Slug Generator

Accented Latin letters are decomposed and stripped, so Crème brûlée becomes creme-brulee. Letters with no decomposition — ß, ø, đ, þ, æ — use an explicit map, and Cyrillic and Greek are transliterated. Any script without a mapping, such as Chinese or Arabic, cannot be romanised here; those titles are reported rather than silently reduced to an empty slug. Truncation always falls back to the last whole word so a slug never ends mid-word.
